Bob McCotter – Non-Executive Chairman

Bob McCotter is a highly experienced environmental engineer who has completed numerous environmental assessments for a wide range of industries. He was a founding director of Mitchell McCotter and Associates and ERM Australia. He is a member of the Joint Regional Planning Panel for the Hunter.

Paul Mitchell - Managing Director

Paul is a highly experienced planner and environmental scientist. He has broad international experience in sustainable development, has undertaken numerous assessments of major development projects and prepared strategic plans for many growing regions. He is a very experienced expert witness. Paul is a member of the Joint Regional Planning Panel for Western Sydney.

Najah Ishac - Director and Chief Operating Officer

Najah has almost two decades of experience in noise and vibration, managing a team of acoustic specialists for over 10 years. Neville Baker – Associate Director, Archaeologist

Neville Baker has over 21 years experience as an archaeologist and 18 years experience as a heritage consultant predominantly in archaeological heritage. Neville has worked in private practice, as a government (NPWS) archaeologist and has previously developed successful archaeology consulting practices within Australian Museum Business Services (1995 – 2002), ERM (2002 – 2007) and AECOM (2007 - 2010).

Oliver Muller - Associate and Senior Acoustic Scientist

Oliver is an environmental scientist with over 17 years experience in the field of environmental science and engineering, specialising in project management and environmental assessment in the field of noise, vibration and air quality. Oliver is based in EMM's Newcastle Office and has a significant amount of consulting experience within the construction, industry, coal mining and extractive industries, and several other areas including environmental approvals and transport. Tim Brooker - Associate, Transport Planning

Tim has approximately 20 years’ professional experience in project management, technical assessments and economic appraisals for road and public transport projects. His experience includes planning and environmental assessment reports for major road and rail projects, route options and feasibility studies and strategic transport network modelling for roads and public transport systems. He has also undertaken detailed traffic engineering, car parking studies and road safety investigations for local government clients, the preparation of construction traffic management plans, pavement engineering and other road design work. Tim also has experience acting as an expert witness in court proceedings in the Land and Environment Court in NSW and the VCAT tribunal in Victoria.

Kate Tilden - Senior Environmental Scientist

Kate has expertise in environmental impact assessment, environmental planning and environmental management. Projects have involved the preparation of a range of environmental impact assessments under both NSW and Commonwealth legislation. Kate has developed a breadth of experience in the preparation and management of environmental assessments under Parts 3A, 4 and 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, environmental management plans and strategies, constraints analyses and environmental planning advice, as well as environmental impact assessments and referrals under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Cassandra Thompson - Associate and Senior Ecologist

Cassie is our ecology service manager. She has consulting experience throughout NSW, the ACT and overseas. Her experience spans all stages of ecological and environmental assessment, management and monitoring under the NSW and Commonwealth planning system. Cassie has led a range of assessments from small developments through to large-scale major infrastructure and natural resource projects. She is a qualified Biobanking Assessor with experience in the identification and assessment of offsets, with a wealth of experience in fauna sensitive design.

Renae Baker – Senior Technical Advisor, Ecology

Renae is EMM's senior technical advisor for ecology. She has survey and consulting experience throughout most of Australia. Renae provides clients with expert advice regarding the requirements of environmental assessments, development opportunities and constraints, management for conservation and offsetting of impacts and state and Commonwealth legislation requirements. Renae has vast experience in survey design, quantitative analysis and offset determination.

Edward Niembro - Senior Planner

Edward joined EMM as a senior planner in 2011. He has over 16 years of planning, sustainable development, stakeholder engagement and natural resource management experience. Edward is a certified practising planner with Australian and UK experience in statutory planning, resource projects, urban regeneration, community and master planning developments.
He has worked on a number of flagship projects, project managing large multi-disciplinary teams. Edward has considerable social planning skills including: appraisal of community facilities; human services planning; social impact assessments and carrying out crime prevention plans (CPTEDs) in Australia and the UK.

Katie Whiting - Senior Ecologist

Katie works as a Senior Ecologist within the ecology services team at EMGA Mitchell McLennan. Katie's ecological expertise lies in the survey of microchiropteran bats including hands on techniques such as harp trapping, but also remote survey methods such as ultrasonic bat detection. Katie is skilled in the identification of ultrasonic bat call signatures. Katie has a strong background in ecological management and restoration. Katie has authored, successfully implemented and monitored several rehabilitation plans for coastal, grassland and woodland ecosystems.

Teanuanua Villierme - Acoustic Consultant

Teanuanua is an environmental consultant in the field of
environmental science and acoustics. Teanuanua's primary focus has been in the fields of environmental and occupational noise, and air quality. Teanuanua is based in the EMM's Newcastle Office and has environmental and occupational consulting experience within the construction, extractive and remediation industries. Teanuanua's career projects and clients include the Hunter River Remediation Project. This project allowed Teanuanua to work in the fields of environmental and occupational compliance based monitoring and reporting under dynamic conditions. Achieving successful outcomes associated with
meeting regulatory environmental conditions (in particular during sensitive out of hours working periods) while maintaining an excellent working relationship with all stakeholders including the developer and community alike, was critical. Teanuanua also has previous experience in Ecology,
including projects such as the Ballina Bypass Alliance Project ecological assessment, the Metgasco Lions Way Pipeline ecological assessment and the Shannon Creek Dam monitoring program.
