The impacts of environmental noise can have a real influence on a client’s operational capability. Environmental noise considerations are a key factor in operating, in government support for developments located in sensitive areas and in relationships with neighbouring communities.
Environmental issues can also be real cost liabilities for proponents. Substantial costs are associated with matters such as the control of noise from large scale industrial operations. Acoustic management can be an effective means of controlling such liabilities. A Noise Management Plan (NMP), for example, can be an effective tool that systematically identifies risk and develops practical controls. This area of our work sets us apart from our competitiors.
The broad categories of our services include:
- Environmental noise impact assessment (for small scale DAs to major projects assessed under the NSW DoP’s Part 3A regulations);
- Aircraft noise modelling (using INM);
- Architectural acoustic design services (building design, construction supervision and compliance);
- Blasting noise and vibration monitoring, predictions and assessment;
- Construction and Operational Noise Management Plans (CNMP & ONMP);
- Expert testimony in Court, tribunals etc.;
- Mine noise and vibration management;
- Occupational Health and Safety noise surveys and assessments;
- Rail traffic noise monitoring, modelling and assessment;
- Road traffic noise monitoring, modelling and assessment; and
- Vibration monitoring, predictions and assessment for human annoyance and structural damage.
We provide the highest standard of acoustic services, including architectural design, noise control, monitoring and three-dimensional modelling. We are considered leaders in environmental noise and vibration impact assessment.
Our staff includes Senior Acousticians, lead by one of our company Directors, who are highly experienced, supported by mid-level professionals and GIS and graphic design personnel.
As part of our day-to-day work, we often find ourselves having to interpret complex data we have collected or that has been provided in third party reports, standards and industry requirements.
The team’s experience covers provision of policy advice for government agencies, noise assessment, and design of practical solutions to noise control problems. We provide accurate, reliable noise measurement and prediction, coupled with a thorough knowledge of appropriate standards, codes and guidelines throughout Australia.
Our team provides clients with leading international expertise and practical experience. Senior staff members have significant professional and academic standing, experience in the NSW Land & Environment and Supreme Court, Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel (IHAP) appointments with NSW Planning and Infrastructure, high level regulatory and community consultation, strategic advice and support through Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DOPI) and OEH processes.
